Understanding The Main Differences Between The Crown Types
Aside from the materials they are made from, there are some other differences between these crowns such as:
- While all-porcelain crowns are cosmetically appealing, their sealing ability depends entirely on the condition of the underlying tooth and the quality of the filling materials. In comparison, the other three types of dental crowns provide very good seals against leakages.
- Metal alloy and gold crowns are the most durable.
- All-porcelain crowns aren’t as strong. They are more susceptible to pressure and can become damaged if you happen to grind your teeth excessively at night.
